Pennoyer Family Newsletter - 5/17/24

Pennoyer Families,

Wow...we ended up with some great weather at the end of this week!  I can't believe we're on the home stretch with only 2 more weeks of school to go.  There were so many exciting things going on at Pennoyer this past week that I have to share...

I got to start off my week as a Mystery Reader in preschool, and we had such a fun time as I read my favorite Mo Willems book entitled Thank You.  Thanks to Mrs. Gray for setting up these wonderful opportunities for our staff!

Our very own Garden Club did it again and raised the bar as they spruced up our Pennoyer sign in front of the school.  What a wonderful group of students and staff members that are making our small school a little more beautiful...one planting at a time!

The Pennoyer band had their final concert of the school year on Thursday night, and they crushed it!  Mr. Browne has been a wonderful band director, and our very own Dr. Kopta didn't miss a beat as she sat in and supported our students at the concert.

Finally, our local Eisenhower Library payed a visit to Pennoyer today for all of our K-6th graders.  They put on presentation that highlighted all of the programs and Summer reading opportunities they have for students once school is out.  Check out flyers that should have come home today with your student.

*Spring MAP results in Math and Reading should have come home today with all K-8th grade students for parents/guardians to look over.

We Celebrate at Pennoyer!

I have to say, the celebration this week is more of a selfish one for me.  I can't begin to explain what an amazing Superintendent and person Dr. Kristin Kopta is to me and our entire District and community.  I've never worked so closely and collaboratively with an administrator before with such ease and a level of respect, trust, and understanding that is unmatched.  Dr. Kopta is a leader in every sense of the word.  She has a clear vision, understands how to get there, and creates an environment where others can thrive and become competent leaders themselves.  To say she goes above and beyond is an understatement.  Dr. Kopta is in the trenches and helping out in our school on a daily basis in ways I've never seen any other Superintendent even attempt.  Whenever I or staff members need support or guidance in any way, she steps in and makes it a priority.  When I come to work every day, I truly look forward to working together, and I know we can tackle any obstacles along the way with her steering the ship.  Beyond a doubt, Pennoyer is special, and we're in a better place each and every year because of the hard work, dedication, and passion that Dr. Kopta brings to her job every single day for every single student, staff member, our families, and the entire community.  #Pennoyerpride and #SuperintendentRocks!
