Pennoyer Families,
I can't believe we only have two weeks of school left! There have been so many exciting things going on at Pennoyer and the energy is flowing. It was amazing to see our 5th graders graduate from the D.A.R.E. program this week. They have been working hard over the last 10 weeks, and this is truly a special program they get to be a part of as they move into the middle school grades. They can surely take these lessons and all they've learned to support themselves and their decision making for many years to come. Thanks to Mrs. Shearer, Mr. Widd, and Officer Deutscher from the Norridge Police Department for all of their hard work and dedication they put into making this opportunity possible for our 5th graders.
*Families, as the weather gets nicer each day, and we're headed towards the end of the school year, we're seeing more students at many of our grade levels pushing the boundaries of our school dress code at Pennoyer. We've been addressing this as a staff and administrative team, but I'm also asking for your help, support, and collaboration with this. Please be mindful of the school dress code and have open conversations with your children about wearing appropriate clothing to school each day. Thanks so much. Here is information from our Student/Parent handbook to guide you...
Clothing must be appropriate for school and the weather.
Clothing that shows inappropriate or offensive symbols, signs, and language will be provided with alternative clothing to wear for the day.
When wearing shorts, they should be long enough to ensure that the student is appropriately covered..
Undergarments must not be visible.
Appropriateness of clothing will be determined in alignment to Board of Education Policy 7:160 Student Appearance
We Celebrate at Pennoyer!
