Pennoyer Families,
I can't believe it's already moving into March next week. This year is certainly flying by! I continue to be impressed with the level of support for our students from our entire staff and all our families. It's a true collaborative effort, and I can't thank everyone enough for the trust and understanding provided to do what's best for our students each and every day. Even when I was away in sunny Arizona for a few days last week with my son at a soccer tournament, I truly missed being at school and working with our incredible staff and all of our amazing students. It was nice to be in 70 degree weather though and eat some great meals in downtown Scottsdale...I'm not gonna lie. My son's U16 team ended up taking 4th place and beating the top team from the state of Minnesota, so that was pretty cool.
I'm also excited to announce that we'll be collaborating with the Norridge Park District again for after school clubs! This Session 2 starts up in March and goes throughout the spring. There are 3 different opportunities for students of all ages to join...Broadway Trio, Games-R-Us, and Gym Rats/Volleyball Club. We hope a lot of Pennoyer families sign their kids up for these!!! Registration opens on February 27th next week at 6pm. HERE is an informational flyer with everything you'll need.
Finally, I wanted to share a special moment some of our students and staff had at Pennoyer today to finish up our week. Today marks the one year anniversary that the war started in Ukraine. Our students bonded together and sang their national anthem proudly. We're so proud of how far so many of our students have come and so glad they're a part of our Pennoyer family.

We Celebrate at Pennoyer!
This week it's all about the power of reading and our very own Battle of the Books club! We couldn't be more proud of this group of students led by Mrs. Khafka. Congratulations to Christian Barszczewski, Zoey Chambers, Andrea Cruz, Mona Culafic, Penn Duvall, Ethan Kim, Eloise Klinger, Molly Mackiewicz, Charlene Miranda, Omar Syed, and Lucas Wilhite for battling this year with so much teamwork and spirit! After Battle #3 this week, Pennoyer is in 3rd place, with only 1 point separating 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. We tied for the highest number of points scored in Battle #3! What an amazing group of students. Keep crushing it!!!
