Pennoyer Family Newsletter - 2/2/24

Pennoyer Families,

I can't believe it's February already!  Things are certainly flying by at Pennoyer, and we're enjoying every bit of it.  We had a fun week and got to focus on some very important topics with a visitor from the American Heart Association.  Our K-8th students participated in assemblies on Thursday and learned all about heart health and how they can take care of themselves and others.  Our students were thoughtful, answered questions, and engaged during the assemblies.  Many of the themes discussed are supported in our PE/Health curriculum, so this opportunity is always a nice experience for our students and staff to participate in.

Enjoy the Winter Edition of our Pennoyer Press thanks to our students in the club and
Miss Burghart!

School Information and Reminders:

*Please make sure to do everything possible to get your children to school on time each morning.  Students are officially considered TARDY if they arrive after 8:15am.  Remember, the school day starts each morning at 8:10am for our students, and that homeroom time is very important to set up their days for success.  Thanks for your support with all of this!

We Celebrate at Pennoyer!

Last week on Friday we had our 2nd Annual Middle School Dance..."Another Year, Another Dance," and it was definitely something worth celebrating!  I can't tell you how much pride and joy I felt watching our middler schoolers enjoy themselves and connecting with friends.  There were dancing circles, dancing lines, students hanging out playing board games, and everyone was so respectful and positive all night long.  I was so proud of our middle schoolers.  They're a great group of students!  The disco ball was a hit for sure, along with the DJ that played what the students wanted.  Next year, we gotta get that disco ball to spin for sure!!!  Thanks to all of the staff that helped out and supported this special student event.  I couldn't have done it without you.  I know it was a long night, and I really appreciated everyone who was there.  Also, thanks to our amazing PTC who came out to help as well with concessions, the front entrance, and supplying us with decorations!  You're a great group to work with, and we're lucky to have you at Pennoyer.  Finally, I can't forget to thank our Principal Crew members that stayed after school last Friday to help decorate the gym and MPR for this special event...#PennoyerPride to our entire middle school!!!
