Pennoyer Families,
What a week at Pennoyer! We got into our ABC countdown, and students and staff are excited as we look towards the end of the school year. I can't believe we're in the month of May already next week! To begin with, we had a great event last Saturday, as Pennoyer hosted our very own Community Kindness Day! Thanks to Miss Torossi, Dr. Kopta, and our PTC for helping to host the event. We also had the support of Ms. Kafka and Ms. Kopoulos planning out the day and getting Student Council involved with the Peer Leaders and Principal's Crew. Pennoyer certainly spread the kindness around!!!
The 8th graders got to experience the Maine South High School musical production of Pippin this week as well, and the high schoolers put on a great show!
It was raining out today on Friday at dismissal time, but the beach towels were in full affect with our students as we celebrated "B" day for our ABC countdown towards the final day of school.
For parents that weren't able to attend the Parent Monthly Meeting this past Wednesday night on Social Media Awareness and Online Safety, please take a moment to look through our presentation HERE, along with a useful handout HERE for families to use as a resource. We also have hard copies of these in our school office to pick up at any time you're in the building. The plan is to continue conversations and education we stared with our students last year, and have 30 minute assemblies with K-8th graders on Monday, May 6th to help support their understanding of online safety and digital citizenship.
We Celebrate at Pennoyer!
This week is a celebration for three individuals at Pennoyer that really hold down so much of the foundation that make our school and district run the way it does every single day. It was Administrative Professionals Day this week, and we're so incredibly lucky and honored to have Ms. Jill, Ms. Teresa, and Ms. Denise as our amazing colleagues at Pennoyer. Ms. Jill does so much in the District Office that supports our staff, current and new families, and daily routines at the District level. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, and is so incredibly thorough and organized with everything she does. Ms. Teresa keeps our financials in order and supports our entire staff and families when it comes to benefits, payments, invoices for resources, budgets, professional development, and beyond. She always has a smile on her face and takes every moment she can to connect with our students as well. Finally, there's Ms. Denise in the school office. She finds a way to be everything for everybody and juggles so many tasks from day to day to help our school operate on the level it does. She is a huge support for me, our entire staff, our families, and of course, our students. Whatever role she plays from day to day or minute to minute, she gets the job done and then some. We couldn't do what we do every day without the hard work and dedication of all three of our Administrative Professionals. #Pennoyerpride for sure!!!
